Gasthaus Schellenberg in Bergen

The Gasthaus Schellenberg is always worth a visit. Especially on the wonderful terrace. With a direct view of the mountains and a wonderful sunset, the food is always delicious and super fresh. The good food and the impressive view make it a very special place in Chiemgau.

We had a wonderful evening here. The landlord is well worth a visit, that's a bit of a gastronomic experience. Thanks for the nice evening from our friends.

Great host, great food. Great evening

There were two of us there in the evening and had reserved a table inside the day before so that we could spend a nice evening there during our vacation. We were warmly welcomed and asked to be patient for a moment until the table was clear. It took about 10 minutes, then we were allowed to take a seat (it was a large table). Unfortunately not all dishes were available anymore and we had ordered a compromise. It was very crowded for the small room, it smelled really penetrating and the music was too loud and not suitable. More and more guests came, which is why the two of us swapped tables for a larger group, so the room kept getting full. We sat down at the next table and waited, after about 10 minutes we were asked again whether we would like to switch to the cat table at the entrance and the kitchen (a mini table in the middle of the entrance was previously used as a shelf for the kitchen and service has been ). It was a really uncomfortable atmosphere and the boss and the wait staff went to extremes when it came to allocating guests. We then made the best decision that evening and left the overcrowded shop without food and had an excellent meal in another restaurant. My conclusion. The location is in a very nice spot, but the atmosphere, as well as dealing with guests is not possible, a lot of work still has to be done here and nowadays it is better to plan how many people are allowed to sit in a closed room.

That's how a beer garden has to be ... delicious food, the cornflakes schnitzel was super good, nice wait staff ... the gentlemen were very friendly ... great view, until the evening sun ... clearly deserved 5 stars.

A little hard to find, very hidden. But a nice view! Food was very good, cordon blue very juicy, but could have been a bit bigger. Fried potatoes also good, but also a little more ... Still 4 stars.

Great beer garden with a wonderful view, food all round successful! Wednesday Schnitzel Day highly recommended, we had the pretzel schnitzel and cordon bleu, both from veal. As a desert, the incredibly delicious nut cake. Value for money and the service was really top class. To be recommended across the board!

The beer garden is really nice and the staff is friendly. Beer, food and ice cream were delicious, but the portions could be a little bigger.

Cozy inn, traditional Bavarian yet modern, beautiful beer garden with fantastic views towards Hochfelln, fantastic sunset, delicious food, good value for money, super friendly, attentive staff ensures a good mood. Great access from our accommodation in the Schusterhof (on the Schellenberg). We would love to come back!

This inn has established itself very well in the last few months after the change of ownership, the service is excellent, the food as well and the atmosphere in the beer garden with a view of the mountains and Hochfelln phenomenal ... ? Conclusion: I can only recommend it ... ?

Goes so. The location is very nice, but there is no one there, you could do so much more from this place. A small cappuccino € 3.50 is not exactly cheap. It's not worth it.

Nice view from the beer garden, modern and cozy dining room. The food tasted excellent. The schnitzel is highly recommended, there is also a selection of vegetarian dishes. Very hard-working and child-friendly service.

On Pentecost Sunday we came to the beer garden before 12 noon. We were warmly welcomed. And our dog was happy about its fresh water. The kitchen didn't open until 12 p.m. and the Sunday roast was a bit late. Nevertheless, a happy "what do you want to drink and what does your dog drink?" opposite. We got our very personal drink mix with the whole good mood, the whole team. Even the young boss later knew where we came from. The roast, the dumplings, everything was spot on. We even got the rest packed. Even guests who did not have a mask were provided with a mask free of charge so that they did not have to walk. Of course, the inn also received our names and telephone numbers. It doesn't get any better. We came again to the sunset. .... a dream ....

Young tenant who motivates and brings a breath of fresh air to the Schellenberg with the experienced team. You can feel that organization and professionalism have found their way. Friendly and personable service, delicious food. It didn't stop at breakfast. ?

We did not expect to find a gem like this on our way to austria. The food is devine and the view really nice. We had the mushrooms and a stew, both dishes were flavourful, delicious and easy on the eye, too. We would love to return for the buffet on our way back.

In this case the 5 Stars are not a question. For those passing on the highway I can only recommend you get off and enjoy a truly special place in the are. Not being a vegan disciple at all it is for sure that I will drive the hour to taste my way through the whole menu. The food was delicious and just round in every way, presented perfect and something one just wants to go for a second round. Staff and owner where really nice and characters just fitting the playful and homy style inside down to the little details and I am sure the next time if they have music it will go until the early hours as one does not want to leave. So everybody, get on your hiking boots or in your car and enjoy the gorgeous spring at an extraordinarily cool place, well more a piece of art you can live in for a few hours.

Awesome food, and a lovely view

Great and flavourful vegetarian food, diverse but small menu with local and high quality ingredients. Super lovely setting above the valley with amazing views or inside with cozy heating and funky decoration. The owner, Manja, is friendly and dedicated to offer the best possible dinner experience. A local gem in need of support.

Very delicious homemade cake and very good coffee. The atmosphere is very great, everything is very retro, very cozy and great decor and a great large fireplace which now also warms up well in winter. Unfortunately, I can not say anything about the "right" food, but I hope that I will change that at some point in the foreseeable future.

Best vegetarian restaurant between Munich and Salzburg, just 5 minutes from the A8 Autobahn with an amazing view of the Hochfelln Mountain in an superb beer garden. Food is absolutely amazing and is freshly cooked so be prepared to wait a little longer than usual, but it's worth the wait.
